About The Company
At Corinex, we are driving the future of energy with cutting-edge Broadband over Power Line (BPL) technology. As a global leader in smart grid solutions, we enable utilities to enhance grid visibility, flexibility, and decarbonization, supporting the seamless integration of renewable energy, electric vehicles, and heat pumps into the power grid.
Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Corinex is the market leader in Europe, particularly in Spain, where our BPL solutions are deployed by major DSOs (Distribution System Operators) to improve grid operations. With successful implementations across global markets, our technologies accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, decentralized, and efficient energy infrastructure. Recognized as a key contributor to industry standards and a 2024 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winner, Corinex is shaping the future of smart energy.
About the Role We are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux / BSP Platform Engineer to take technical ownership of embedded Linux platforms, from hardware bring-up, bootloader, BSP and Linux kernel through device drivers, networking, security, and embedded applications.
The role combines platform engineering with hands-on product development for solutions such as Smart Metering Data Concentrators and BPL proxy solutions for grid visibility and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead board bring-up, BSP development, Linux kernel, Device Tree, U-Boot, and device-driver development.
- Develop and maintain embedded Linux platforms across multiple hardware products.
- Develop and integrate embedded applications for smart metering, BPL communications, visibility, and flexibility solutions.
- Diagnose complex issues across the bootloader, kernel, drivers, networking, security, and application layers.
- Work with Ethernet, VLAN/bridge, routing, TCP/UDP, multicast, and network management protocols.
- Develop and troubleshoot applications using protocols such as DHCP, FTP/FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, and related network services.
- Understand and apply basic network and communication security, including secure transport, authentication, certificates/keys, and secure remote access.
- Use JTAG, GDB/OpenOCD, UART/serial console, and other tools for system-level debugging.
- Maintain Yocto/OpenEmbedded/BitBake build environments and contribute to CI/CD and automated hardware validation.
- Support firmware flashing, recovery, production testing, and field issue investigation.
