Role Description The Occupational Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Williamstown, ON, providing client-centered assessment, treatment, and evaluation across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting functional assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and supporting clients in achieving optimal independence in daily activities. The role involves collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, and community partners, to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services. The Occupational Therapist will educate clients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, adaptive strategies, and equipment use, while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to professional and organizational standards. Participation in quality improvement initiatives, student supervision, and ongoing professional development is expected to support service excellence and evidence-informed practice.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based interventions.
- Foundational understanding of Medicine as it relates to functional performance, chronic conditions, and multidisciplinary care.
- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to explain treatment plans, educate clients and families, and collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Experience or interest in Pediatrics, including assessment and intervention for children and youth with diverse needs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (or eligibility for registration).
- Experience in hospital, community, or rehabilitation settings is an asset, particularly within mental health, geriatrics, or acute care.
