In this position, you will be part of a team of Automation Specialists who program, monitor and support industrial automation solutions for several long-term industrial customers. You will be working directly on several mission-critical systems related to material handling, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, monitoring and safety.
This company has been operating for several decades, and they have long-term relationships with their various customers across Canada and the US. You will be working primarily with companies in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, and this is an on-site position.
Another significant aspect to this position is the work schedule, and you will be the primary person for the overnight shift of their 24/7 operations. You will be well-supported by your other colleagues who also provide coverage when you have vacations and absences.
This position offers above average compensation, and in addition to statutory overtime allowances, there are also company-provided overtime bonuses.

Here are some of the desired qualifications for this position:
- You are an experienced PLC programmer with three or more years of experience (preference for Rockwell equipment)
- You are comfortable in a live industrial/heavy industry operations environment
- You have the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and confidently, to minimize downtime (software, hardware, database, etc)
- You live in the Vancouver area, and you’re comfortable with on-site overnight responsibilities (generous overtime allowances are provided)
