Role Description The Health and Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role is responsible for supporting, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs across construction sites and operations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation. The coordinator will develop and deliver safety training, maintain safety documentation and incident reports, and assist with investigations and corrective actions. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, supervisors, and crews to promote a safety-focused culture and continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices.
- Experience with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) programs and Workplace Safety standards.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate Safety Training for diverse site and office teams.
- Familiarity with infrastructure construction industry regulations, codes, and best practices in Ontario
- Strong communication, documentation, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail.
- Relevant post-secondary education or professional certification in health and safety (e.g., CHSO, CRSP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively on-site, influence safe work behaviors, and pritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentrience in civil construction or related fields is essential valid Ontario G driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites within the GTHA is required.
