Creative Structures is a growing architectural and design practice based in London, Ontario, working closely with its affiliated structural engineering firm, IE Design.

Position Summary
Creative Structures is looking for an experienced Licensed Architect to join our growing team in London, Ontario.
This role is ideal for an architect who can take ownership of projects, contribute across the full project lifecycle, and provide the professional oversight required to stamp and seal architectural drawings in Ontario.
You will work closely with clients, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal team members from early concept development through construction documentation and project delivery.
We are looking for someone with strong high-rise building experience and a solid understanding of the Ontario design and construction environment. Experience with commercial projects is strongly preferred.
Reporting & Key Relationships
Reports to: Lead Architect
The Licensed Architect will work closely with the Creative Structures architectural team, IE Design's structural engineering team, clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Architectural Design & Project Delivery
- Lead and contribute to architectural projects from early concept development through construction documentation and completion
- Develop thoughtful, functional, and technically sound architectural design solutions
- Prepare and review architectural drawings, details, specifications, and related project documentation
- Develop and review architectural drawings and BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD
- Stamp and seal architectural drawings and documents within your professional scope of practice
- Ensure architectural work meets applicable building codes, regulations, professional standards, and project requirements
- Contribute to commercial, high-rise, residential, industrial, and institutional projects
- Review shop drawings and other project documentation
- Conduct site investigations and inspections to support project development and construction
- Support quality assurance throughout the design and construction process
- Identify and resolve design, technical, and construction-related issues
Project & Client Collaboration
- Work closely with clients to understand project goals, requirements, and design priorities
- Collaborate with structural engineers, consultants, contractors, municipalities, and other project partners
- Coordinate architectural requirements with structural and other engineering disciplines
- Participate in and lead client and project meetings as appropriate
- Present design concepts and technical information clearly and professionally
- Support project coordination across all phases of design and construction
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and internal team members
Professional Leadership & Quality
- Provide professional architectural oversight and exercise sound judgment in the review and approval of architectural work
- Maintain high standards for design quality, technical accuracy, documentation, and code compliance
- Support and mentor other architectural team members where appropriate
- Contribute ideas and experience that strengthen internal processes and project delivery
- Support the continued development and growth of Creative Structures' architectural practice
Qualifications & Experience
- Licensed Architect in Ontario and in good standing
- Authorized and professionally qualified to stamp and seal architectural drawings and documents in Ontario
- 5–10 years of professional architectural experience preferred
- Demonstrated professional experience working on architectural projects in Ontario
- Strong commercial building experience
- High-rise building experience strongly preferred
- Degree in Architecture or other education required for professional architectural licensure
- Experience with residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional building projects
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
- Knowledge of common construction systems and materials, including wood, steel, and concrete
- Experience developing and reviewing architectural drawings and construction documentation
- Experience conducting site investigations and inspections
- Strong understanding of the architectural project lifecycle from concept through construction
- Strong client-facing and consultant coordination skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for site visits

You are an experienced architect who enjoys being involved in both the creative and technical sides of a project. You can move comfortably between design conversations, technical documentation, client meetings, consultant coordination, and construction-related problem-solving.
You bring meaningful commercial building experience and can speak to the size, scope, complexity, and level of responsibility you've held on previous projects. Experience contributing to high-rise projects will be particularly valuable.
You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and understand the professional responsibility that comes with reviewing and stamping architectural documents.
You also enjoy working in a smaller, collaborative environment where you can contribute ideas, help shape how work gets done, and have a meaningful impact on the growth of the practice.
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Full-time, on-site position based in London, Ontario
- Regular computer-based architectural design and documentation work
- Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Regular participation in client, consultant, and internal project meetings
- Site visits and inspections as required
- Walking and standing on active project sites
- Occasional bending, reaching, and movement associated with site investigations and inspections
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment when attending construction sites
