Position Summary and Objectives
The Accounts Payable Coordinator reports to the Controller with the main responsibility to provide reliable, timely, and efficient support and facilitate continuous improvement in systems and procedures as it relates to Accounts Payable.
Responsibilities
Provide Superior Returns to our Investors through Accurate and Reliable Financial Information
Receive, review, and process high volume vendor invoices including multi-property payments
Review/audit non-trade invoices, vendor statement of accounts, employee expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
Analyze and investigate discrepancies and unpaid invoices
Ensure the timely and accurate vendor set-up and management and invoice payments in accordance with terms and policies
Ability to meet deadlines and customer service requests
Daily review and verify accounts payable invoices to ensure compliance with Crown’s policies and procedures.
Ensure payments are in line with policies and procedures and properly approved
Process payments and set up utilities and property tax for on-line billing
Assists in implementation of systems related to AP entries and payments and support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and process efficiencies.
Assist with and design and training for Crown employees on accounts payable procedures
Review existing open Accounts Payable invoice up on status and delays
Assist with application of Accounts Receivable and lease setup from time to time
Support audit requests
Deliver Excellent Service to Tenants
Oversee and respond to inquiries from vendors and other internal customers regarding the status of their payments and other accounts payable related matters
Efficient and effective communication, in a professional manner, with all employees and clients
Perform other related responsibilities as requested from time to time
Education & Experience Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Management, or other related fields, required
- Minimum 1 of experience with Accounts Payable or related experience in a position of similar responsibility
- Intermediate Excel skills and working knowledge of real estate and property management financial accounting systems and software
- Working knowledge of multi-currency transactions, accrual accounting concepts and job costing
- Sound understanding of accounting concepts and principles
- Familiarity with Yardi, Yardi PAYscan, Smart AP and Yardi VendorCafe, considered an asset
- Accuracy of data entry; aptitude for detail
- Account Receivable experience is an asset
