The opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Design Solutions Studio, we are hiring a Senior Workplace Design Specialist to join our growing team in Mississauga. You will translate workplace requirements into accurate furniture layouts, detailed specifications, presentation drawings, and installation packages. Working closely with Workplace Consultants, Project Managers, Account Support Coordinators, and clients, you will support successful project delivery through high-quality drawings, technical documentation, and responsive collaboration.
As a Senior Workplace Design Specialist, you will independently manage multiple complex projects, including large-scale environments with 200 or more workstations.
This is an existing full-time vacancy requiring a minimum of three days per week on-site at our Mississauga office. During the onboarding period, you will be expected to work in the office five days per week for approximately three months.

With experience in commercial interiors, contract furniture, workplace design, or a furniture dealership, you know how to turn client requirements into practical solutions that move from concept to execution.
You are ready to take ownership of complex projects, apply advanced Haworth product and systems knowledge, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision. You will support junior and intermediate designers, helping to strengthen design and documentation practices.
As our new Senior Workplace Design Specialist, you will:
- Develop workplace drawings and specifications. You will interpret requirements from Workplace Consultants and clients to produce accurate furniture layouts, space plans, product recommendations, presentation drawings, installation drawings, renders, and detailed specifications using 2D and 3D design tools.
- Own complex project deliverables from concept through installation. You will independently manage multiple active projects, including new installations, small and medium-sized projects, large-scale environments, and MAC work. You will organize your workload, manage competing deadlines, and deliver accurate, professional work with minimal supervision. You will remain engaged throughout the project lifecycle, supporting concept development, quoting, design revisions, specification, installation preparation, and final documentation.
- Apply advanced product and systems knowledge. You will use your knowledge of Haworth products and workplace systems to develop practical solutions, troubleshoot system-related questions, identify product limitations, and support tailored or special product requirements when needed.
- Ensure technical accuracy and compliance. You will prepare detailed and accurate specifications, redlines, installation drawings, and related documentation. You will ensure layouts meet applicable fire and building codes and complete required final reviews before order entry. You will support or independently complete site measurements, inventory checks, as-built documentation, and other verification activities required to confirm project conditions and support accurate design development.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams. You will participate in design reviews, live design sessions, and project discussions with Workplace Consultants, Project Managers, Account Support Coordinators, clients, and other stakeholders. You will complete project checks, share product and process knowledge, support junior and intermediate designers, and contribute to consistent design and documentation standards.
What you bring
- The domain experience. You have experience working in a furniture dealership, contract furniture, commercial interiors, or workplace design environment. You understand furniture applications, specification requirements, project documentation, and the coordination needed to support successful installations.
- The technical expertise. You bring advanced knowledge of Haworth products and systems, including Compose, Planes Tables, Intuity, Premise, Unigroup/UniToo, X-Series Filing and Casegoods, and Masters Casegoods. You understand system requirements, product applications, common challenges, and practical troubleshooting approaches. You are comfortable learning new software and staying current with workplace solutions and industry practices.
- The design and documentation capability. You are highly proficient in producing 2D and 3D presentation drawings, renders, space plans, redlines, installation drawings, and detailed specifications. You can produce accurate work with minimal checking and understand the importance of a thorough final review before order entry.
- The project ownership. You are organized, accountable, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects, including complex large-scale environments with 200 or more workstations. You bring strong time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. You enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting junior and intermediate designers, participating in project checks, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- The client and communication skills. You communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams. You are comfortable leading or participating in live design sessions, gathering requirements, explaining recommendations, and asking thoughtful clarifying questions.
- The flexibility. You are willing and able to travel to client sites, meetings, and events as required. A valid driver’s license may be required for certain site visits or locations.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $65,000–7$0,000 CAD, with bonus potential. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set, and alignment with our internal compensation framework. We are always happy to answer questions about compensation throughout the hiring process.
