Role Description
This position is part of NEAT (Newcomers Explore and Appreciate Toronto) Mentorship program (Community Connections Mentorship Program - CCMP). Newcomers will be matched with a mentor in a small group and work together to organize at least two events in 4 to 6 months.
NEAT Newcomer Volunteer Event Planner(s) will be responsible for exploring Toronto, attending weekly meetings, and planning and organizing events to support community engagement. They will collaborate to create culturally inclusive events, manage event logistics, and ensure a positive experience for all attendees.
Newcomers who:
- are landed immigrants and convention refugees (and able to provide a copy of the immigration document)
- are19 years of age or older
- are at CLB level 5 or above
- live in Toronto
- are looking for flexible volunteer opportunity that can fit into their schedule while they go to school or work
- are willing to travel within Toronto and commit to two meetings per month (in-person or online)
If you are a newcomer interested to meet new people, you enjoy outdoors, and planning activities and events, or looking for Canadian experience, this is the position for you.
