Join our team as a Senior Maintenance Technician, where you will take ownership of the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our facility infrastructure, production systems, and critical equipment. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will serve as a senior technical resource - independently diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility challenges across our regulated production site.
This is more than a maintenance role - it's an opportunity to shape how our site operates. You'll lead preventive and corrective maintenance, identify recurring issues, drive root-cause improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. What You'll Do
Maintenance & Technical Leadership
- Plan, execute, and document preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance using our CMMS ensuring full traceability and accuracy
- Independently troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and building systems from conveyors, pumps, and motors to controls and environmental infrastructure
- Investigate recurring equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend design, process, or maintenance improvements to boost reliability
- Perform emergency/breakdown maintenance and participate in our on-call rotation to support 24/7 operational needs
- Manage competing priorities balancing safety, production requirements, and business impact with minimal supervision
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Work in full alignment with CGMP, company safety policies, and regulatory standards including lockout/tagout, confined space, and working-at-height protocols
- Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable maintenance records
- Support internal/external audits and inspections as a subject matter expert
- Stop work and escalate when issues exceed your authorised scope safety always comes first
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Facilities teams to plan work and minimise operational disruption
- Share knowledge, mentor less experienced technicians, and help build a culture of excellence
- Drive efficiency, cost-reduction, and reliability improvements across the site
What You Bring
Education & Trade Background
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Apprenticeship, trade school, or technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or a related field strongly preferred
Certifications
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) or Red Seal endorsement - preferred
- Additional certifications in Electrical, HVAC/Refrigeration, Plumbing, Welding, or Controls - considered a strong asset
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years progressive industrial maintenance experience
- Proven track record of independently troubleshooting and repairing complex systems
- Hands-on experience with CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance programmes
- Background in manufacturing, regulated production, food/pharma, or cannabis - highly valued
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior staff - preferred

- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and industrial electrical systems
- Deep understanding of reliability-centred maintenance principles
- Clear communicator - able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Safety-minded, detail-oriented, and committed to doing things the right way
- Flexible - willing to work overtime, on-call shifts, and respond to emergencies as needed
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Requires standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
- Exposure to production/cultivation environments - PPE provided and required
- On-call rotation participation as required
