A privately held seafood company is seeking a Director of Processing to develop plant leaders and drive improvements in safety, quality, yield, and overall performance at a facility near its global headquarters. This is a highly visible opportunity for a leader with a strong meat or protein processing background to make a lasting impact.
Some responsibilities include:
- Lead plant operations with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity
- Improve yield, reduce waste, and strengthen cost performance
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and production results
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Develop plant leaders and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration
- Manage operational budgets, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
Some qualifications include:
- 10+ years of experience in meat or protein processing, including 5+ years in a leadership role
- Strong background in plant operations, yield optimization, and cost control
- Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver measurable operational results
- Knowledge of HACCP and applicable food safety and regulatory requirements; SQF or BRC experience is a plus
- Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
