The Crupi Group of Companies is a family-run business that has serviced Toronto and surrounding areas since 1951 in the road construction, construction materials production, quarries and road maintenance industries.
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst with an outstanding attention to detail and a customer service disposition. The role involves some routine data entry, but also data upload processing using Excel. The job requires some ad-hoc reporting, analysis and problem solving, therefore we need an individual that demonstrates initiative, has a technical IT bent and is a fast learner.
Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume accounts payable transactions for material suppliers, trucking companies, and subcontractors.
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoices.
- Reconcile delivery tickets, rates, quantities, and vendor billings.
- Administer progress payments and holdback releases in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payments through EFT, wire transfer, and cheque.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
- Support month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and accounts payable aging analysis.
- Generate ad hoc reports, analyses, and data uploads using Excel and other financial systems.
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency within the accounts payable function.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA enrollment or designation is considered an asset.
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, lookups, pivots, and large-volume data management.
- Experience in the construction, aggregates, manufacturing, or related industries is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative, customer-service-oriented approach with a willingness to challenge the status quo and recommend improvements.
Compensation: $50,000-$65,000/year
