Role Description The Bookkeeper role at D&D Commercial Roofing is a part-time (20 hrs/wk), on-site position based in Calgary, AB. The Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day financial recording, including accounts payable and receivable, posting journal entries, maintaining accurate ledgers, receipt tracking, payroll, project budget support, and financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Record and categorize financial transactions accurately using accounting software such as QuickBooks, or Sage
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances against bank statements.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly.
- Payroll processing, ensuring employee wages are accurate and compliant with regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports on financial activities, including account reconciliation summaries and budget tracking.
- Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and insights for decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong bookkeeping skills, including maintaining ledgers and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and reconciling financial statements and reports.
- Proficiency with accounting software (Quickbooks, Sage, Xero)
- Knowledge of finance principles and practical experience posting journal entries.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB, and collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
- Prior experience in construction or a related industry is an asset.
- Relevant education in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
