Hardware Engineering Manager
About Us
Daanaa is a Vancouver-based fabless power electronics and semiconductor company on a mission to build a simpler, efficient future in energy generation, storage, distribution, consumption, and management, for generations ahead. The company is in the early commercialization stages of deep tech power conversion and control technologies, offering innovative solutions to OEMs in multiple industries, including solar energy, electric vehicles, and data centers.
Daanaa's value is derived from its transformative Power Transaction Unit (PTU) that consolidates power electronic functions - from bi-directional conversion and amplification to management, transfer, diagnostics, and control - onto a single, high-power-density, high-efficiency, low-profile, scalable, reliable, and safe module. At Daanaa, we are building a world of Energy Untethered™.
We are growing here at Daanaa and are looking for a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead our hardware engineering team and drive the development of next-generation power electronics from concept through production. In this role, you will lead hardware development execution, build and develop a high-performing engineering team, and establish the processes and technical direction needed to deliver reliable, high-quality products at scale.
What You'll Do

- Plan and manage hardware engineering projects in alignment with Firmware, Systems, Project Management, and broader company objectives, proactively managing technical, resource, quality, and schedule risks.
- Drive predictable execution across the hardware team by establishing clear priorities, ownership, milestones, and accountability for engineering deliverables.
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing hardware engineering team by recruiting top talent, providing technical mentorship, setting clear expectations, and supporting career growth.
- Establish and continuously improve hardware engineering processes, ensuring consistent execution across projects while maintaining the speed and flexibility required in a high-growth environment.
- Provide technical leadership across architecture, analog, digital, power, PCB design, DFM/DFT, reliability, systems integration, and compliance, helping the team resolve complex hardware challenges.
- Partner closely with Product Management, Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external partners to align technical decisions with customer needs and business objectives.
- Drive a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, continuous improvement, and accountability across the hardware organization.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of hardware engineering experience, including experience leading or managing hardware engineering teams through the full product development lifecycle.
- Strong technical breadth across analog, digital, power electronics, PCB design, testing, manufacturing, and systems engineering, with the ability to guide technical decisions and resolve complex hardware challenges.
- Proven experience taking hardware products from architecture and design through validation, qualification, and production, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, scope, and execute complex hardware development programs while proactively managing technical, resource, quality, and schedule risks.
- Experience building and developing high-performing engineering teams, including recruiting, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFT, reliability engineering, systems integration, compliance, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to balance customer requirements, product performance, cost, quality, and time-to-market when making engineering decisions.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with experience partnering across Product, Program Management, Firmware, Systems, Supply Chain, and external partners.
- Experience in power electronics, power conversion, semiconductors, automotive, renewable energy, or other complex hardware development environments is strongly preferred.
