Position Overview
At Dare Foods, a leading CPG company based in Canada, a marketing career presents a distinctive opportunity for you to shape strategies and assume the role of a general manager for your brands. As the Associate Brand Manager, you will partner with experienced marketers, cross functional teams and Agency partners to drive business performance through strong brand building, consumer centric innovation and integrated business planning. As a developing marketer, you will take on increased responsibility leading key elements of the marketing mix and the portfolio’s priority projects. You will also assist the Sr. Brand Manager in short and long-term brand planning. You are developing a strong Marketing technical skill set and will work closely with Sales, Finance, Research and Development, Supply Chain, Category Management and external agency partners to drive sustainable growth and strengthen Dare Food’s market position.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy and Leadership
- Support the development and execution of annual brand plans and long-term growth strategies.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate volume, revenue, market share, and profitability.
- Translate consumer, category, and competitive insights into actionable brand strategies.
- Manage assigned brand initiatives while ensuring alignment with overall brand strategy and guidelines.
Business and P&L Management
- Support brand financial performance and deliver against financial objectives.
- Support annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
- Monitor and analyze business performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Present business recommendations and performance updates to senior leadership.
Marketing Execution
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across traditional and digital channels.
- Manage agency relationships and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
- Lead packaging, communication, promotional, and consumer activation initiatives.
- Optimize marketing investments through data-driven decision-making.
Innovation Leadership
- Collaborate with Research and Development and Innovation teams to build a robust product pipeline.
- Lead cross-functional innovation projects from concept through commercialization.
- Evaluate new product opportunities, consumer trends, and market gaps.
- Develop compelling business cases for innovation investments.
Consumer and Market Insights
- Leverage consumer research, syndicated market data, category trends, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities.
- Conduct post-launch and post-campaign evaluations and apply key learnings.
- Develop a deep understanding of consumers and shoppers to guide brand strategy.
Cross-Functional and Team Leadership
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver brand and business objectives.
- Partner with Sales and Category Management to support customer presentations and category initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure successful execution and commercialization.
- Provide coaching, direction, and mentorship to junior members of the Marketing team, where applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of progressive brand management or Consumer Packaged Goods marketing experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing brands, profit and loss performance, and marketing budgets.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using syndicated data sources.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Experience developing and launching successful innovation projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Nielsen, Numerator or comparable market data platforms.
- Experience leading agency relationships and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Previous experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
