Role Description This is a hybrid internship role for a Bookkeeper based in Calgary, AB, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Bookkeeper intern will assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. Responsibilities include supporting the preparation of basic financial reports, reconciling accounts, and helping ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The role also involves using accounting software to update records, organize documentation, and respond to internal inquiries about financial data. The intern will work closely with senior staff to learn best practices and contribute to consistent, timely financial recordkeeping.
Qualifications
- Ability to work with Financial Statements and support basic financial reporting tasks.
- Practical knowledge of Bookkeeping and accurate maintenance of financial records.
- Familiarity with Accounting Software and related digital tools used in modern accounting environments.
- Understanding of Finance principles and proficiency in recording Journal Entries (Accounting).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks responsibly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and willingness to ask questions and learn.
- Enrollment in or completion of coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a professional setting and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
