Domestic Partner Carrier Manager Full-time Brampton, ON or Winnipeg, MB
The Manager, Domestic Partner Operations is responsible for the performance, management, and continuous improvement of Day & Ross's domestic partner carrier network. This role ensures partner carriers operate as a seamless extension of the Day & Ross network while meeting service, operational, and customer expectations.
Working closely with Operations and Customer Service, the Manager drives carrier accountability, service recovery, operational excellence, and network optimization through strong relationships and data-driven decision making.
How You’ll Help
Lead relationships with domestic partner carriers.
Establish service standards, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
Conduct regular carrier reviews and performance meetings.
Manage carrier scorecards, KPIs, and corrective action plans.
Identify opportunities to improve service, coverage, and operational performance.
Monitor carrier performance against service and transit targets.
Drive improvements in on-time delivery, freight visibility, and network reliability.
Analyze trends and implement corrective actions to address service gaps.
Ensure operational consistency across all carrier partnerships.
Lead resolution of significant service failures and customer-impacting issues.
Partner with carriers to recover delayed, damaged, lost, or misrouted freight.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Act as the primary escalation point for partner carrier performance issues.
Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency and service reliability.
Lead carrier performance improvement initiatives.
Support technology, process, and operational enhancements.
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Maintain carrier scorecards and performance dashboards.
Provide operational reporting and recommendations to leadership.
Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Operations, and Network Planning teams.
Support trategic customer and carrier discussions as required.
Lead and coach Domestic Partner Carrier Service Coordinators.
Establish performance objectives and development plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
Support change management and business transformation initiatives.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience.
- 3+ years of leadership, vendor, or carrier management experience.
- Strong knowledge of domestic freight operations, linehaul, and transportation networks.
- Experience managing carrier performance and driving operational improvements.
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Performance reporting and analytics
- KPI and scorecard management
- Freight visibility and tracking systems
