Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, support and professional development by coaching, mentoring and supervising staff; provides direction to support their ability to be effective and successful in their role
- Acts as the team resource for relevant policies, procedures, legislation, service protocols as well as ethical codes and guidelines
- Serves as the principle liaison between staff and senior agency leadership as well as between team members and other service/support providers; facilitates cross-agency communication and participation
- Promote productive working relationships with community partners and provincial, federal and non-governmental agencies
- Coordinate and promote services available through Comprehensive Care with various stakeholders to effectively build the program
- Act as a liaison and participate on internal and external committees
- Provide orientation and training to new team members
- Oversee daily service delivery, ensure operational accountability, proactively resolve issues, and escalate significant client, staffing, or service related concerns
- Contributes to the development and management of team scheduling and budget processes; ensure adherence to both financial and service terms and conditions
- Manage the services provided by the Comprehensive Care program through effective communication, resource provision, home visits, and coaching
- Maintain positive relations with clients, families, and other stakeholders, addressing any expressed barriers within timely and professional means
- Utilize a client and person-centred approach to uphold DDRC’s mission,vision, and values
- Support staff through their career life cycle at the DDRC including interviewing, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and off boarding as per DDRC Policies
- Facilitate effective coaching and supervision to promote the growth and success of staff, utilizing proactive strategies to address performance barriers
- Act as the principle liaison for staff to facilitate cross-agency communication and participation
- Utilize designated scheduling programs to maintain accurate, dynamic schedules and proactively adjust for changing priorities, barriers, and emerging needs
- Collaborate effectively within a dynamic team across office, home, and community-based settings
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the policies, legislation, and processes governing the Comprehensive Care Program, serving as an ambassador for the program and consistently upholding these standards across all aspects of the role
- Maintain accurate files and documentation for clients, staff, and stakeholders in accordance with accreditation and funder requirements
- Respond to incidents and emerging concerns promptly, considering multiple perspectives to support informed, balanced decision-making
- Takes accountability to ensure all mandatory certifications and training are kept current
- Ensures that all required staff files, documentation and information is captured according to agency and accreditation requirements
- Ensures that staff attend required workshops/training sessions in timely manner
- Ensures all required documentation is placed in personnel file
- Schedules required meetings and planning sessions for teams
- Attends all required meetings and planning sessions as requested; accountable for seeking information if absent from meeting and disseminating information to relevant staff
What You Bring To The Role
- Relevant Post-Secondary diploma in Disabilities Service, Psychology, Program Management, Social Work, etc., or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience
- Minimum two (2) years working in a related field
- Experience working with vulnerable sectors to support inclusivity within their community
- Knowledgeable of community resources and how to access resources
- Ability to self-manage through the use of strong critical thinking and organization skills
- Strong leadership, relationship building and conflict resolution skills
- Understanding of disabilities and how they can impact relations, using customer service strategies to overcome barriers
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of and understanding of applicable federal and provincial legislation as well as professional standards (e.g. Alberta Human Rights Commission, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, regulation and code)
- Creating Excellence Together (CET) Accreditation experience within the disability sector, an asset

Working Conditions
- Travel to all quadrants and communities within Calgary City Limits year round
- Provide proof of business commercial automobile liability coverage with a minimum of 2 million liability
