I'm presenting at the Embassy of Japan in Ottawa on Thursday, October 22, and I'm looking for a videographer.
The quick version:
- About 3 hours on site (arrive 6:00 PM, packed out by 9:00 PM) at 255 Sussex Drive
- A long-form edit of the talk, plus B-roll and source footage
- Budget is around $1,000, half on arrival and half on delivery. I'm flexible on camera setup.
If you're available and that budget works for you, please send me a link to your reel. Then call we can sort out the details quickly by phone rather than back and forth here. If you have a reel, send the link here before calling so I can reference it during the call.

Looking for a videographer in Ottawa for Thursday, October 22.
I'm presenting Echoes of the Blade: The Ancient Art of Japanese Swordsmithing at the @Embassy of Japan in Canada. It's a one-time evening, and it's also the first public step in a longer body of work I'm building, so I want it captured well.
The shoot:
- 255 Sussex Drive, Ottawa
- Show up at 5:30-6:00 PM (doors open at 6:00, talk starts at 6:30)
- Shooting until about 8:30 PM, packed out by 9:00 PM. That's roughly 3 hours on site.
- I'm open on the setup: one camera, two cameras, or one static and one roaming. I'd like to hear what you'd recommend.
What I need:
- A well-edited long-form video of the presentation that I can use in full and pull clips from later
- Clean speaker audio, plus room sound
- B-roll from the evening, especially the authentic Japanese swords on display (low light, reflective steel). I'd like the B-roll and source footage included as part of the package.
Budget and terms:
Around $1,000, depending on setup, with 50% paid on arrival and 50% on delivery. If a two-camera approach needs more, tell me. I'm open to the conversation.
You'd be a good fit if you're comfortable in formal or diplomatic settings, know how to shoot metal without blowing it out, and care about telling a story rather than just recording one.
If that sounds like you, or someone you know, comment or send me a message with your reel and availability.
Referrals are very welcome.
