Role Description The Air Balancing Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON. This position is responsible for performing field measurements, testing, and balancing of air and hydronic systems in commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. Daily tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, conducting site surveys, setting up and using measurement instruments, documenting readings, and adjusting systems to meet design criteria and comfort requirements. The technician will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and building operators to resolve performance issues and provide clear, professional reports. The role also involves troubleshooting system deficiencies, maintaining equipment, following safety procedures, and supporting continuous improvement in TAB processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong technical skills in HVAC systems, air and hydronic balancing, and use of field instruments (e.g., manometers, flow hoods, thermometers).
- Candidates should possess skills in reading mechanical drawings, understanding specifications, and performing accurate site surveys and preliminary readings.
