Job Title: Senior Java Developer
Location: Mississauga, ON (3 days onsite in a week)
Job Type: Contract to hire
Job Summary:
We are seeking a senior Full Stack Java Developer with 5+ years of experience in enterprise application development. The role will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular/React, and Oracle/PostgreSQL, while driving Generative AI/LLM initiatives. The candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor developers, manage stakeholders, support production issues, and ensure strong engineering, DevOps, SRE, and security practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale Java applications and AI-powered solutions.
- Develop and integrate Generative AI/LLM capabilities into existing and new applications.
- Provide technical leadership, code/design reviews, mentoring, and guidance to the development team.
- Partner with stakeholders to define roadmaps, releases, milestones, and delivery plans.
- Design application architecture, frameworks, data models, APIs, and technical documentation.
- Ensure best practices across Agile, DevOps, SRE, TDD, security, performance, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform RCA, and provide permanent resolutions at L3 level.
- Review test plans/cases and ensure quality and sprint deliverables.
- Remain hands-on with development while managing team capacity and technical delivery.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of full stack/enterprise software engineering experience.
- Strong Java, Spring Boot, Microservices development experience.
- Experience with Angular or React.
- Strong Oracle/PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, and caching experience.
- Expertise in REST APIs and Kafka.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud and cloud migration.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, TDD, authentication, authorization, and security.
- Excellent troubleshooting, architecture, communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
