DHL Express has an opening for a Full Time Warehouse Associate Exports at our Halifax, NS location. You will support the business by accurately and efficiently managing shipments and packages to serve our customers’ needs to the best of our ability. Position: Warehouse - Exports
Available Shift timing: Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM to 7 PM
Wage: $20.72/hour and will increase as per the CBA
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
- Use scanners (handheld, wrist, wand) to scan all waybills
- Handling of parcels/ shipments
- Actively participate in the Sort Operations
- Interact effectively and respectfully with other team members
- Prepare shipment labels and ensure proper packaging and paperwork are compliant to ship items
- Comply with the collective agreement.
- Understanding of Customs Processes in preparation of Import/ Export declarations
- Coordinate shipment transfers by communicating with Service Centre Operations
- Demonstrate exemplary behavior at all times, promote respect in the workplace and follow all required health and safety measures
- Any other task assigned
Do you have what it takes?
- High school diploma or equivalence
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
- Able to lift to 70lbs and handle bulky, heavy, awkward shipments
- Able to stand for long periods of time and work outdoors for extended periods
- Has or is able to obtain a Forklift certification
- Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) as per Transport Canada Standards
- Ability to obtain Airside Training, SABLE certification, AVOP, and Xray Certification
- Minimum one year warehouse / customer service experience
- Provide outstanding customer service in English and French, ensuring clear and effective communication and understanding of customer inquiries, concerns, and requests across Canada.
