Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed Manufacturing routings, Work instructions and Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Structural Assemblies, Composites, or Avionics installations.
- Streamline Production workflows and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of existing or proposed operations.
- Develop manufacturing plans, including sequence of operations, tooling requirements, equipment requirements, work methods, and detailed manufacturing method for complex assemblies and installations.
- Assist with Make or Buy proposals.
- Ensure Engineering Change Orders are seamlessly integrated into shop-floor documentation within targeted lead times.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on matters concerning product quality, tooling, inspection, scheduling, corrective actions, and continuous improvements.
- Investigate manufacturing-related non-conformances (NCRs) and support the development and implementation of repair and disposition proposals.
- Ensure Quality policies are being implemented.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities are performed in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
- 3 to 5 years’ experience.
- Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and controlling Production BOMs, Manufacturing routings, Work instructions, and SOPs.
- Experience with ERP systems. (Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprint reading, shop math, Manufacturing processes, and Engineering configuration requirements.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as CATIA, SOLID EDGE, AUTOCAD is an asset.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, active listening, and clear communication when collaborating with shop floor assembly technicians.
Educational or Academic Requirements:
- Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent education and experience
