Tax Manager | $110,000–$140,000 | St. Catharines, ON (Hybrid)

This Tax Manager opportunity is with an established, mid-sized CPA firm in St. Catharines with a broad practice across tax, accounting, assurance and business advisory. The client base includes owner-managed businesses, professionals and individuals across industries including construction, automotive, restaurants, real estate development, technology and professional services.
You’ll manage a varied tax portfolio covering compliance, planning and more complex advisory matters while working closely with clients, staff and Partners.

What you’ll be doing:
- Review T1 personal tax returns
- Review T2 corporate tax returns
- Review T3 estate and trust returns
- Oversee other information and indirect tax filings
- Lead tax planning engagements for privately owned businesses and individuals
- Advise owner-managers on compensation and tax-efficient structures
- Become involved in corporate reorganizations
- Advise on tax implications arising from the purchase or sale of businesses
- Support estate and succession planning matters
- Assist clients with non-resident taxation
- Handle CRA pre-assessment and post-assessment reviews
- Support clients through CRA audits and appeals
- Identify tax planning opportunities throughout the year
- Manage client relationships and engagement deadlines
- Review work prepared by members of the tax team
- Coach and develop junior and senior staff
- Work closely with Partners on more complex tax matters
What they’re looking for:
- 5+ years of Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience
- CPA designation
- Previous Tax Manager, Tax Supervisor or strong Senior Tax experience
- Strong Canadian corporate tax knowledge
- Experience reviewing T1s, T2s and ideally T3s
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses
- Tax planning and advisory experience
- Corporate reorganization exposure would be valuable
- Estate and succession planning exposure would be an asset
- CRA audit or dispute experience
- Comfortable managing clients directly
- Experience reviewing and developing staff
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience required
