We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Administrator to join our team and support our accounting and administrative functions.
The Accounts Receivable Administrator will be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing invoices and payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the accounting team with daily administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong organizational and communicational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generating and processing customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Entering, reviewing, and maintaining sales contracts accurately within company systems.
- Reviewing and reconciling scale tickets, purchase orders, shipping documents, manifests, and sales contracts to ensure billing accuracy.
- Monitoring customer accounts and maintaining accounts receivable records.
- Following up on outstanding balances and overdue payments via phone and email.
- Reconciling customer accounts and investigating payment discrepancies.
- Processing incoming payments and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Preparing aging reports and assisting with month-end reporting activities.
- Responding to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
- Collaborating with internal departments to resolve billing issues.
- Ensuring all paperwork is complete and properly reconciled before processing customer invoices.
- Supporting additional administrative and accounting duties as required.
Work Location: This position is based at our Toronto location at 48 North Queen Street, Toronto, ON M8Z 2C4. Occasional travel to our Stouffville location at 11967 Woodbine Avenue, Stouffville, ON L0H 1G0 may be required as needed to support operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-3 years of Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is considered an asset (i.e. Sage 50).
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with scrap metal recycling, manufacturing, or industrial sectors is an asset.
- Ability to occasionally travel to our Stouffville location is an asset.
