dNovo Group is a Toronto-based digital marketing agency operating since 2011. We work with clients in the legal, medical, and construction industries, delivering integrated digital marketing strategies across SEO, Paid Media, Content Marketing, and Web Development.
We are looking for a Lead Digital Account Manager to lead our Account Managers, oversee key client relationships, and drive strong client performance and retention. This is a senior role for someone ambitious, proactive, and experienced specifically in managing digital marketing clients within an agency environment.
Role Overview
As a Lead Digital Account Manager, you will manage a portfolio of key clients while providing leadership and strategic guidance to our Account Managers. You will oversee SEO and digital marketing strategy, manage client expectations, coordinate delivery across internal teams, and identify opportunities to improve performance and grow accounts. This is not a coordination-only role. You must understand digital marketing deeply, independently assess SEO performance, and confidently guide both clients and Account Managers.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management Leadership
- Lead, coach, and support the Account Management team
- Review account strategy, performance, communication, and client satisfaction
- Set and maintain high standards for client communication and account management
- Support Account Managers with strategy, performance issues, and client escalations
- Ensure accountability and consistent quality across client accounts
Client Relationship Leadership
- Serve as the senior strategic point of contact for key clients
- Lead regular client meetings and performance calls
- Manage client expectations and resolve issues professionally
- Build long-term, trusted client relationships
Digital Strategy & SEO Performance
- Oversee SEO strategies aligned with client business goals
- Identify technical SEO issues, opportunities, and growth areas
- Review website audits and provide actionable recommendations
- Monitor SEO performance and translate key metrics into actionable recommendations tied to client business goals
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with content creators, developers, designers, and ad managers
- Ensure campaigns are executed accurately and on time
- Maintain high standards of quality and accountability
Growth & Retention
- Take ownership of client satisfaction and retention
- Identify upsell and account growth opportunities
- Proactively recommend improvements and new initiatives
- Identify at-risk accounts early and help resolve issues before they escalate
Qualifications
- 5+ years of client-facing account management experience within a digital marketing agency
- Experience managing, leading, and mentoring Account Managers
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SEO strategy and execution
- Deep understanding of keyword research, technical SEO, content optimization, and analytics
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and leading SEO platforms such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz
- Strong understanding of broader digital marketing, including Paid Media, Content Marketing, and Web Development
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
Preference will be given to candidates based in Canada or those able to consistently work Canadian business hours.
