Role Description This part-time Interior Designer role is an on-site position based in Richmond, BC. The Interior Designer will collaborate with management, project teams, and clients to develop interior design concepts that integrate DSG Mouldings’ products into residential and commercial spaces. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, preparing interior layouts, coordinating finishes and materials, and creating construction drawings that align with architectural and building requirements. The role involves selecting FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), preparing mood boards and design presentations, and ensuring design solutions are practical, safe, and compliant with relevant codes and standards. The Interior Designer will also work closely with production and installation teams to review technical details, support project coordination, and maintain consistent design quality from concept through completion.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interior Design and Space Planning skills to create functional, aesthetic layouts that complement DSG Mouldings’ product offerings.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Architecture and Construction Drawings to translate design concepts into accurate, buildable documentation.
- Candidates should possess experience with FF&E selection, including finishes, fixtures, and materials suited to both interior and exterior applications.
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and basic rendering tools is an asset.
- Strong visual communication, attention to detail, and ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with clients, suppliers, and internal teams on-site.
- Knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and materials relevant to interior and exterior architectural elements is beneficial.
