Role Description
The Finishing Site Superintendent – Low Rise is a full-time, on-site role based in Etobicoke, ON, responsible for overseeing all interior finishing activities for low-rise residential projects. This role coordinates trades and suppliers, ensures work is completed to design specifications and quality standards, and manages daily site operations, including scheduling, inspections, and site safety. The Finishing Site Superintendent monitors progress, identifies and resolves deficiencies, and works closely with project management, construction teams, and customer service to meet timelines and handover requirements. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings, supervising finishing crews, performing quality control walkthroughs, documenting site issues, and ensuring compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Experience overseeing low-rise residential finishing, including supervision of trades, coordination of schedules, and management of site activities.
- Strong knowledge of interior and exterior finishing practices, materials, and standards for townhomes, condos, and similar residential projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes, and apply them effectively on site.
- Demonstrated skills in quality control, deficiency tracking, and ensuring high-quality workmanship and finishes.
- Proficiency in construction site safety practices, incident reporting, and adherence to local health and safety regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with trades, suppliers, project managers, and purchasers.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Experience using Procore construction management software, digital reporting tools, and basic office applications.
- Previous experience as a finishing site superintendent, in residential construction in the GTA.
- Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent practical experience in construction or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and local construction practices is an asset.
