Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, positive, and dependable Forestry Assistants to join our team of Resource Professionals in the Forestry Department. Our mission is to provide the highest caliber of service to meet the needs of our clients, and we are only as good as the people on our team. The position will be based out of Squamish, BC. and will involve shift work throughout the province. The term for this position will run from early May until the end of Summer 2027.

Job Responsibilities:
This position will mainly focus on field work, and its responsibilities will generally include:
- Assisting with road and boundary layout.
- Conducting road and boundary traversing (GPS).
- Assisting with the collection of ecological data.
- Assisting with riparian classification and management.
- Participating in pre-harvest cut block reconnaissance and field evaluations.
- Supporting Timber cruising activities.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Enrollment in a Natural Resource Management program with a focus on forestry, or a related field.
- No Previous experience required.
- Knowledge of timber cruising and related forest survey techniques is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s license with demonstrated experience driving 4x4 trucks and ATVs.
- Willingness to work out of town on a variety of projects throughout BC.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors; willing to work in demanding conditions.
- A great attitude, with a willingness to try new things.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Compensation:
- The pay range for this position is $22-$26 and will be commensurate with experience.
