Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for overseeing daily electronics manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. This role plans and schedules production, allocates resources, and coordinates with procurement, engineering, and quality teams to meet customer requirements and optimize throughput. The Production Manager leads, mentors, and evaluates production staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork. Daily tasks include monitoring production metrics, resolving operational issues, implementing process improvements, and ensuring adherence to certified standards and company procedures. The role also involves communicating status updates and risks to leadership, supporting capacity planning, and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Experience in production and operations management within electronics manufacturing or a related industry, including scheduling, resource planning, and workflow optimization.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising production teams, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as PCB assembly, box build, and final assembly, and familiarity with quality standards, certified processes, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Proficiency with production planning tools, ERP/MRP systems, and basic data analysis for tracking KPIs, identifying bottlenecks, and driving operational improvements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work closely with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in North American electronics production or contract manufacturing is an asset.
