As a Project Manager, you will provide strategic leadership to project teams while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders. Some of your responsibilities may include:
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, forecasts, procurement activities, and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while acting as the primary point of contact for assigned projects.
- Review, negotiate, and manage contracts, change orders, and project-related agreements.
- Coordinate project activities with field supervision, engineering, procurement, safety, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as required.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Coordinators, field personnel, and other project team members.
- Review and approve project estimates, progress reports, customer invoices, vendor invoices, and project forecasts.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of project documentation, including RFIs, permits, submittals, progress claims, and closeout packages.
- Participate in estimating, tendering, and proposal development activities.
- Assist in identifying and securing new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between clients, project teams, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Support workforce planning and resource management to ensure successful project execution.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and best practices throughout project operations.
- Ensure projects are delivered in compliance with company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and client presentations.
- Support project commissioning, startup, turnover, and final project closeout activities.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all work is performed in accordance with company and client safety requirements.
Position Requirements
- Relevant project management training or certification (PMP designation or equivalent is considered a strong asset).
- Journeyperson Electrician Certificate, Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma, Engineering Degree, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial electrical construction, utilities, substations, power generation, or related industries.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible project management experience leading medium to large-scale projects.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, risk management, and project controls.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and client relationships.
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, substations, power distribution, controls, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
- Ability to read and interpret contracts, electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling platforms.
- Familiarity with Viewpoint Vista, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to drive project profitability and client satisfaction.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop project team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable Driver's Abstract required.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
