Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Quality Engineer with strong expertise in native mobile application testing, API testing, and test automation.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience testing native iOS and Android applications, strong manual and exploratory testing skills, and hands-on automation experience using Python for API automation and Appium for mobile UI automation.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role requiring close collaboration with development, product, and QA teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, exploratory, regression, sanity, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Test native iOS and Android mobile applications across devices and environments.
- Design, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and regression suites.
- Develop and maintain API automation tests using Python and Pytest.
- Build and maintain mobile UI automation using Appium.
- Perform REST API testing using tools such as Postman.
- Create and maintain E2E test execution cycles and support continuous testing.
- Develop BDD-based test scenarios using Gherkin/Cucumber.
- Review automated test execution results, identify failures, and troubleshoot defects.
- Log, track, and manage defects through the complete lifecycle using Jira.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product teams during sprint testing and releases.
- Support CI/CD and continuous testing using Jenkins.
- Maintain QA documentation, test evidence, and release-related documentation.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of software testing experience, including strong manual testing.
- Deep hands-on experience testing native iOS and Android applications.
- Strong experience with Mobile Testing across real devices and/or device-cloud platforms.
- Strong hands-on API Testing experience.
- Hands-on experience developing API automation using Python.
- Strong hands-on experience with Appium for Mobile UI Automation.
- Experience with Pytest or similar Python testing frameworks.
- Experience with Postman and REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of Functional, Regression, Sanity, Smoke, and E2E testing.
- Experience with Jira, Xray, and Confluence.
- Knowledge of Xcode and Android Studio.
- Experience with BDD/Gherkin and Cucumber.
- Experience working with Jenkins, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and defect-management skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Sauce Labs or similar mobile device-cloud testing platforms.
- Experience with TestFlight and mobile application release testing.
- Knowledge of Kibana or application-log analysis.
- Experience in highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Financial services or FinTech domain experience is a plus.
