About the role
We need a real person, not a soulless resource, who will use the best tools available, including current AI platforms, to deliver expert work a customer can trust. EC Managed IT supports more than 300 organizations across a range of industries. Through ECAI, we help those businesses find practical uses for AI and turn them into working solutions that people will actually adopt.
You will spend time inside real businesses listening to owners, managers, and administrators, spotting where AI can remove slow or people-heavy work, and helping those teams adopt the change. You are not a software engineer and you will not manage people. You are the person who can walk into an office, understand how the work actually gets done, and show a credible path from idea to working prototype.
What you will do
· Go on site and by video into client businesses, listen more than you talk, and map how work is done today.
· Find specific, high-value chances to apply AI (not generic chatbot advice).
· Run assessments and turn findings into a clear recommendation.
· Prototype solutions using Claude, Grok, OpenAI, and related build tools.
· Help the client adopt the solution: who uses it, what changes in their day, what “done” looks like.
· Stay with the customer from first conversation through delivery.
· Work with the existing EC Managed IT client base and EC account managers across the markets we serve.
· Write in plain language that an owner, a manager, or an administrator can trust.
How we work
· You work with guidance and direction from the CEO.
· When a prototype needs deeper technical delivery, the Business Lead will bring in the EC software engineering teams.
· You stay deeply involved and remain the main interface with the customer.
· When a solution needs to be operated, monitored, secured, and kept healthy, EC Managed IT takes on that operational work.
· You develop the pipeline working with the EC Managed IT account management team.
What you bring
· Required. High working knowledge of Claude, Grok, OpenAI, and related build tools.
· Required. Ability to sit down with an AI build tool and produce a working prototype that a business person can react to.
· Required. A creative mind.
o You can start from a blank page and bring an idea into being, the way a musician writes a piece or a painter works a canvas.
o You will then shape it with the people who will use it.
· Required. Comfort in the room with business owners, managers, and administrators.
o You ask good questions, leave people clearer, and avoid confusion.
· Required. Integrity and trust in every communication.
o If you do not know, you say so.
o If a number changed, you say so.
· Required. Ability to listen in industries you have not worked in.
o You do not need a résumé in any one industry.
o You do need to hear how an owner or manager actually spends the day and spot the friction.
· Working familiarity with Microsoft 365 as the system most of our clients already live in.
· A good working understanding of what Azure, Entra, and similar cloud and identity tools are for.
· Willingness to be in the Langley office two to three days a week, and to meet clients face to face when the work calls for it.
Nice to have
· Time spent inside professional services, managed IT, or another business that sells advice and then has to deliver it.
· Exposure to model APIs in a work setting, and to taking a prototype from demo to something a client will use.
· Experience helping non-technical teams actually change how they work after a new tool shows up.
This role is not
· A software engineering job: production code, architecture, and hard integrations belong to the EC software engineering teams.
· An infrastructure, security, or monitoring job: these operations will be handled by EC Managed IT.
· A people-manager job: this role does not have direct reports.
· A Copilot-license sales job: we are not building a Copilot Studio practice.
· A network administrator role: tool & environment administration is handled by EC Managed IT.
How we work together
· CEO
o You report here.
o Strategy and final oversight sit with the CEO.
· Business lead
o When deeper technical resources are needed, you work with the Business Lead to bring in the EC software engineering teams.
o You stay deeply involved and remain the person the customer deals with.
o Some projects will also be led from this side.
· EC Managed IT account managers
o They already have the relationships.
o You develop the pipeline with them, not around them.
· EC Managed IT operations
o Once a solution is in use, they operationalize it (monitoring, security, infrastructure, threat detection).
· EC software engineering teams
o They provide deeper build capacity when a prototype needs to become a durable system.
o You do not hand the customer off.
