About The Role
We are hiring Financial Controllers to help build the finance function behind it. Reporting to the CFO, you will own full cycle accounting across our franchise network, sharpen the processes behind it and help turn growing set of books into a clean, well-run finance operation

Key Responsibilities
· Own full-cycle accounting and month-end close for a portfolio of franchise locations and Head Office entities, ensuring an accurate and timely close each period.
· Review the work prepared by the offshore team and maintain high standards for AP, AR, reconciliations, and bookkeeping across the network.
· Prepare and oversee entity-level financial statements and reporting packages to support ownership’s decision-making.
· Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting frameworks as we scale and add franchises.
· Monitor job costing and project profitability across our roofing and decking operations.
· Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and cost allocations across multiple entities.
· Oversee compliance, corporate tax, multi-province HST/GST/QST, and payroll remittances, and lead year-end review activities with our external accounting firm.
· Support budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, variance analysis, and KPI reporting.
· Serve as the go-to resource for our larger franchisees’ more complex accounting needs.
· Lead, mentor, and develop our offshore accounting team.
What We're Looking For
· Canadian CPA or similar designation.
· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
· Previous experience managing accounting staff.
· Experience with multi-entity, multi-location bookkeeping; public accounting experience is an asset.
· Experience in construction, trades, or franchise accounting is an asset.
· Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
· Proficiency with cloud-based accounting platforms (QBO an asset) and advanced Excel; experience with Plooto, Hubdoc, or ZOHO is a plus.
· Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE) and regulatory compliance.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-accountants.
