Data Center Operation Technician
The position at a high level, will include data center infrastructure support, hardware installation, troubleshooting, rack & stack activities, remote hands support, asset management, and day-to-day operational support to ensure reliable data center operations.
Details of Services will include:
- Perform rack & stack activities, including server installation, relocation, minor cabling, labeling, and equipment setup.
- Provide hardware break/fix support, including component replacement, diagnostics, and hardware validation.
- Support server provisioning activities, including physical setup, firmware checks, and deployment readiness.
- Handle remote hands support for infrastructure teams, including power cycling, console access, and physical troubleshooting.
- Manage incident and service requests, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues as required.
- Coordinate IMAC activities (Install, Move, Add, Change) for servers, network devices, and datacenter equipment.
- Coordinate asset management and inventory records, including device tracking, tagging, and CMDB/DCIM updates.
- Coordinate network and cabling activities, including patching, cable replacement, port verification, and connectivity checks.
- On-site monitor datacenter infrastructure health, identify alerts/issues, and coordinate resolution with relevant teams/vendors.
- Update operational documentation, shift handovers, change records, and compliance with datacenter security procedures.
