Job Description
iCA (www.ica-immigration.ca) provides a supportive and flexible work environment where we collaborate to provide exceptional service to our clients and community. The company is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where the team provides immigration and recruitment services to employers and foreign nationals, admission services to Canadian institutions, and integration support services such as job coaching and intercultural training.
The Community Immigration Assistant position is a one year full-time contract leading to full-time permanent, in-office in Sault Ste.Marie. We are looking for an energetic individual who creates a magnetic connection between iCA and the communities we serve and who can buckle down and focus on the very detail-oriented work of preparing immigration files.
Start date: October 2026 (Not eligible for hybrid/remote work)
Responsibilities
Immigration file support
- Maintaining client confidentiality as per IRPA, IRCC and CICC policies and regulations
- Responding to client inquiries and scheduling meetings and account activities
- Drafting client file documents for review by Immigration Consultant
- Completing immigration forms and submitting approved files to IRCC using iCA portals
- Providing client with verified information related to their immigration questions
- Data entry, collecting, and filing confidential client documents within iCA systems
- Provide weekly reports on client files and draft file summary documents
Community outreach
- Organizing engagement activities to support employers and newcomers
- Liaising with employers regarding job opportunities for Talent Pool members
- Maintaining communication with all client groups via newsletters, campaigns, events
- Off-site meetings within the community, including events and presentations
Required Skills
- Legal diploma, or diploma/degree in relevant field
- Knowledge of IRPA, IRCC policies and practices, and CiCC regulations
- Highly proficient in English language with exceptional communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite, Google Workspace and social media applications
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and has not previously participated in NOHFC
- French and/or Spanish language skills and AI applications are an asset
