Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform painting preparation process such as cleaning, sandblasting, taping and full preparation of the equipment to assure quality paint application.
- Prime, spray paint, and sandblast products using appropriate equipment.
- Proper and safe operation and maintenance of the paint and sandblasting equipment and area. 4. Perform routine preventative maintenance as required to maintain all equipment in top operational order.
- Occasionally inspect, test and/or evaluate all parts manufactured in the specific assembly area and perform quality related analysis.
- Assist with hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of welded assemblies as required.
- Proper and safe operation of all associated equipment including cranes, forklift, pipe threaders, small tools, etc.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders, requisitions and other documentation.
- Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of materials and inventory.
- May track inventory or prepare other documentation on a computer.
- Visual inspection of product to ensure it has not been damaged or has not deteriorated during handling, storage, packaging or shipping.
- Effective performance of material handling activities such as crating, packing, shipping, receiving, picking, lifting, moving and using materials handling equipment when necessary (such as; lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts, etc.).
- Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary.
- Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc.
- Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
- Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
- Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
- Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Vacant full time position within our organization
Hours: Monday to Friday 5:30 am – 2:00 pm
$25.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Required Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
- 3+ years related painting/sandblasting experience preferred.
- 1+ year related manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications helpful.
- Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks.
Physical and Technical Environment
- Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee.
- Required to wear impact goggles, face shield and hearing protection when using handheld grinders.
- Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs. Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, reach with hands or arms.
- Must wear respirator protection, which may include being required to be clean-shaven for tight-fitting respirator use.
- Exposure to paint fumes and dust within industrial size paint/sand booth.
- Overtime required at periodic intervals to respond to project deadlines.
- Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards.
- Overtime required at periodic intervals to respond to project deadlines.
- Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis.
- Exposure to machines and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards. Occasional exposure to fiberglass.
