Position Overview
Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. (E360S) is seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to lead and strengthen our dispatch operations across Ontario. Initially, this role will oversee dispatch operations supporting Northern Ontario and Scarborough, with the scope expanding to support all Ontario operations as the function continues to evolve. The Dispatch Manager will lead a team of approximately six employees, including one Dispatch Supervisor and a team of Dispatchers. This individual will be responsible for building a consistent, efficient and scalable dispatch function while ensuring strong communication between dispatch, drivers, operations and customers. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who understands transportation or field-service operations and can balance day-to-day operational demands with process improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day dispatch operations for Northern Ontario and Scarborough, with future responsibility for dispatch operations across Ontario.
- Manage, coach and develop the Dispatch Supervisor and Dispatch team.
- Establish consistent dispatch processes, procedures and service standards across locations.
- Ensure daily routes, service requirements and operational priorities are effectively coordinated.
- Work closely with Operations Managers and Supervisors to address staffing, equipment, routing and service challenges.
- Monitor workloads and allocate dispatch resources based on operational requirements.
- Support the team in resolving service disruptions, missed services, breakdowns, driver shortages and other operational issues.
- Improve communication and coordination between dispatch, operations, drivers and customer service.
- Review routing and operational processes to identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Develop and monitor dispatch KPIs, including service completion, missed services, route efficiency, response times and other operational measures.
- Identify recurring operational issues and work with leadership to implement sustainable solutions.
- Support the standardization and eventual integration of dispatch practices across Ontario locations.
- Assist with workforce planning, scheduling and coverage for the Dispatch team.
- Provide leadership and escalation support during high-volume periods or significant operational disruptions.
- Ensure dispatch practices support company policies, contractual requirements and health and safety expectations.
- Participate in operational meetings and provide updates on dispatch performance, challenges and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, field services or a similar operational environment.
- Previous experience leading a dispatch or operations team.
- Strong understanding of routing, scheduling and daily transportation operations.
- Experience managing operations across multiple locations is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and introduce consistency across teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching and employee development skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use operational data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience with dispatch, routing, GPS or fleet-management technology is an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
