- Apply best practices to software development, combining strong testing discipline with impactful code reviews that ensure codebase quality, reliability, and maintainability.
- Leverage AI-powered coding tools and workflows to accelerate development.
- Support continuous deployment and monitoring of production systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to support business needs, partnering closely with Product Management to define, design, and implement new user features.
- Contribute to a culture of shared technical knowledge across the engineering team.
- Write clear, thorough, and accessible technical documentation for systems, workflows, and code changes.
Core Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 4+ years of professional full-stack experience building and maintaining web applications.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and clean architecture principles.
- Strong frontend experience building responsive web applications using React.

- Experience using AI developer tools and agentic workflows (eg. Copilot, Claude, or Cursor) with strong prompting skills to optimize daily workflows and engineering efficiency.
- Understanding of automated testing frameworks, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails is highly desirable, but not required if you can adapt to our backend stack quickly.
- Experience with AWS, Heroku, DevOps concepts.
- Experience with civic technology, public sector software, or strategic planning and performance management platforms.
