EPC Canada is a dynamic, fast-growing company. It is 100% owned by the EPC Group, an international manufacturer of commercial explosives with extensive experience and expertise in storage and distribution in the mining, construction and quarrying industries. EPC Canada is looking for an Operations Assistant. Reporting to the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting managers in the planning and monitoring of projects or daily operational activities.
Responsibilities Operations & Supervisory Support
- Assist supervisors with daily planning and scheduling activities.
- Provide administrative support to production and maintenance teams, including follow-up on work orders and site needs.
- Participate in improvement initiatives and support the rollout of new procedures when required. Administrative Coordination
- Maintain organized records, personnel files, production logs, and tracking systems.
- Prepare and update reports, operational documents, and meeting minutes.
- Ensure proper document control and accurate data entry.
- Monitor certain expenses and assist with budget or accounting follow-ups as needed. Human Resources Support
- Support hiring paperwork, onboarding activities, and employee inductions.
- Track attendance, schedules, leave, and overtime, and assist with payroll inputs.
- Coordinate training sessions and maintain training records.
- Serve as a contact for routine employee administrative questions. Procurement, Inventory & PPE
- Assist with purchase requests, order tracking, and supplier communications.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
- Monitor inventory levels of office supplies, site materials, mechanical parts, and PPE, ensuring replenishment and proper usage tracking.
Logistics & Communication
- Organize travel, accommodations, and transportation logistics for employees and visitors.
- Coordinate meetings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and internal events.
- Communicate site updates and liaise with head office, suppliers, and external partners as required.
General Support
- Help maintain smooth day-to-day office operations.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of information.
- Perform other related administrative and coordination tasks as assigned.
Qualifications required
- DEC in logistics management (an asset) or other related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a project or operations management environment.
- Experience in an administrative or operational support role.
- Proficiency in office automation tools (Microsoft Office Suite).

Work conditions
- Permanent, full-time position.
- 44-hour week from Sunday to Saturday.
- Paid overtime after 44 hours.
- Have an interest in working in extreme climatic environments on occasion.
