Company Description ePIC ASIC is a semiconductor engineering company that delivers end-to-end silicon design services for advanced compute platforms, custom ASICs, and high-performance applications. The team supports the full chip development lifecycle - from architecture and RTL design through verification, physical implementation, tape-out, and production - helping customers reduce technical risk and accelerate time to market. Core capabilities span SoC architecture, IP integration, functional verification, FPGA prototyping, physical design, analog and mixed-signal, DFT, and silicon operations. ePIC ASIC has deep expertise in high-performance computing, AI, data center infrastructure, specialized accelerators, and power-efficient silicon for advanced process technologies. Based in Toronto, Canada, the company provides a single engineering partner from concept to production-ready silicon.
Role Description The Design Engineer will contribute to the design and development of semiconductor solutions and related hardware platforms, working on-site at the Toronto, ON office in a full-time capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include translating product requirements into detailed design specifications, performing design calculations, and creating models using computer-aided design (CAD) tools. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams in electrical, mechanical, and product engineering to ensure robust designs that meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability targets. The Design Engineer will review and refine prototypes, support design validation and testing, and participate in design reviews to address technical risks and ensure compliance with industry standards. The position also includes documenting design decisions, maintaining design files and BOMs, and supporting continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.
Qualifications

Strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills applied to complex hardware or semiconductor-related systems.
Mechanical Engineering experience with proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for modeling and drafting.
Electrical Engineering background with the ability to interpret schematics, layouts, and system-level design requirements.
Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary engineering teams and working within structured design and review processes.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency with industry-standard CAD and simulation tools; familiarity with design for manufacturability and reliability best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple design tasks and deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to document technical work for internal and customer stakeholders.
Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or high-performance computing environments is an asset.
