IT Network Specialist

About the Role
Join a global network engineering team responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving a mission-critical enterprise network spanning more than 100 locations worldwide. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern networking technologies across campus, data centre, cloud, SD-WAN, wireless, and security domains while contributing to large-scale transformation and automation initiatives.
As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders, technology partners, and engineering teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and evolution of the company's global network services.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Support
- Support the day-to-day operation of a large-scale global enterprise network across LAN, WAN, Wireless, Internet, Cloud, and SD-WAN environments.
- Troubleshoot complex network incidents and service disruptions, working closely with vendors, service providers, and internal technology teams to restore business services.
- Drive incident and problem resolution activities while ensuring timely communication and status updates to stakeholders.
- Participate in on-call support and operational escalation activities as required.
Network Engineering & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, performance, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and enhancement of network solutions supporting global business requirements.
- Participate in infrastructure deployments, technology refresh projects, site integrations, and network modernization initiatives.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of technical standards, documentation, and operational procedures.
Cloud & Internet Services
- Support cloud networking components and architectures across public cloud platforms.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Internet technologies and related services including:
- DNS
- HTTP/HTTPS
- Load balancing (AWS ELB/ALB or equivalent)
- IP networking and routing protocols
- Application connectivity and performance optimisation
Network Automation & Tooling
- Contribute to network automation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, validation, and reporting processes.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices for network and cloud services.
- Maintain and improve operational platforms and tools, including IP Address Management (IPAM), monitoring, and network inventory systems.
Agile Collaboration
- Work closely with application, cloud, security, and infrastructure teams in an Agile environment.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, story creation, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Provide technical expertise during cross-functional initiatives and project delivery activities.
Knowledge Sharing & Team Development
- Mentor and coach team members by sharing technical expertise, operational best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and engineering excellence.

- Strong experience supporting enterprise-scale network environments.
- Expertise in routing, switching, wireless, WAN, Internet, and network security concepts.
- Experience with Azure cloud networking technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and network management platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience working within Agile or DevOps-oriented delivery models.
- Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, or similar.
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 load balancers, Netbox IPAM are assets.
- Cisco CCNP certification is an asset.
- Cloud networking certification is an asset.
