Role
Reporting to the Director, Mechanical Designer performs a variety of tasks related to the design, selection, planning and deployment of ground test equipment for the aerospace industry. As part of a multidisciplinary team, he/she participates in large-scale projects with the aim of developing solutions that meet customer needs, while ensuring standardization and quality of processes and products.
Responsibilities
- Prepares specifications based on customer requirements, under the supervision of an engineer;
- Develops mechanical operation diagrams (P&ID);
- Carries out detailed design (3D and 2D) of structures and auxiliary systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, aerodynamic and acoustic);
- Periodically estimates the time remaining to complete tasks and keeps tracking tools up to date;
- Carries out technical work, including technical information (specifications, preliminary calculations, 3D and 2D drawings, equipment lists, mechanical designs, procedures, manuals, etc.);
- Selects hydraulic, pneumatic, aerodynamic and acoustic components;
- Performs geometric and functional tolerancing (GD&T);
- Within a project, establishes priorities, ensures compliance with deadlines in his/her discipline and optimizes work in collaboration with his/her team and Project Managers;
- Applies the quality management system;
- Supports production, installation and commissioning teams;
- Carries out risk and machine safety analyses;
- Brings and stimulates innovation and collaboration in projects and processes.
- Create the internal work order for each assembly, hand it over to production and follow up with them.
Qualifications required
DEC/BAC + 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
