Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, people-focused Human Resources Manager to lead all aspects of human resources across our portfolio. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and training & professional development. This individual will have significant exposure to Evergreen’s senior leadership team, with the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as they can demonstrate capability for.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
- Develop and oversee company-wide recruitment strategies, with a focus on front-line roles (e.g., Guest Services Associate, Night Auditor, Room Attendant, etc.)
- Partner with property leadership to identify staffing needs and plan ahead for seasonal fluctuations
- Build relationships with key talent sources, including local colleges / universities, trade schools, hospitality programs, and industry organizations
- Closely support new hires in their first 90 days to ensure success, mitigate turnover, and set them up for long-term growth
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including: Job postings, Candidate sourcing & initial screening, Interview coordination, Reference checks, Offer preparation, Onboarding & training
2. Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary resource for employee relations issues across all properties, maintaining confidentiality while providing fair and consistent guidance
- Coach managers on talent development, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary matters
- Manage all aspects of employment, including transfers, promotions, vacation / time off / leave of absence requests, resignations / terminations, etc.
- Administer employee benefits program, and assist with launching new benefits programs (e.g., discounted stays for Friends & Family)
- Implement company-wide communication channels (e.g., email lists, chat groups) to share key updates / announcements and foster a sense of community across the portfolio
- Monitor employee engagement and retention trends, and spearhead initiatives to drive improvement, where needed
3. Performance Management
- Design an end-to-end performance management & year-end review process
- Coach managers on conducting regular performance reviews with their teams, including setting performance expectations and delivering constructive feedback where needed
- Support managers with conducting career development discussions to ensure that each team member understands how to grow their career within the organization
- Support annual compensation reviews to ensure equitable compensation across the organization and relative to the market
4. Training & Professional Development
- Develop end-to-end onboarding programs for key roles (e.g., Guest Services Associate, Night Auditor, Room Attendant, Operations Manager, etc.)
- Design leadership development initiatives for supervisors and managers
- Coordinate ongoing hospitality and customer service training
5. Other:
- Maintain employee records and implement systems, where required, to better store / track key information
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, and workplace procedures
- Assist senior leadership with promoting a close-knit, family-like culture across the Evergreen portfolio

Skills and Qualifications
- About You: You are an experienced HR professional with a can-do attitude. You are self-motivated & continuously strive to exceed expectations, even when no one is watching.
- Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills, passion for talent development, and proven ability to build trust with employees at all levels of an organization. Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Project Management: Ability to plan, manage, and execute ongoing projects across multiple hotel locations. Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and comfort working within a fast-paced environment.
- Business Judgement: Strong commercial awareness, with an ability to evaluate return on investment for recruiting and talent-related initiatives.
- Background: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous leadership role within HR in the hospitality, tourism, or retail sector is preferred.
