Senior Engineer - Building Inspector

This is an important technical hire and one where SBSE is looking for someone who can bring meaningful industry experience to the organization.
Required
- OIQ certification - mandatory
- Relevant building inspection experience
- Experience with building condition assessments, structural inspections, building envelope inspections or similar mandates
- Strong technical/report-writing capabilities
- Bilingualism is an asset
The individual will lead and support property condition assessment work from the initial site visit through technical reporting and client delivery.
Typical responsibilities can include:
- Planning site visits and reviewing documentation
- Conducting building/property inspections
- Evaluating building conditions
- Coordinating technical reports
- Developing Class D cost estimates
- Developing 10-year capital expenditure projections
- Supporting reserve fund studies and maintenance planning
- Coordinating with engineers, inspectors, subcontractors and clients
- Working across commercial, multi-residential, industrial and mixed-use properties
The work can include significant and complex assets, including large commercial properties and multi-residential buildings.
Travel
Occasional travel within Canada is required.
A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are required because the individual will need to travel between project sites.
