Position Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused and technically minded Front Desk / Inside Sales Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with experience in the door, architectural hardware, or building products industry who enjoys working with both customers and technical product information.
As the first point of contact for walk-in customers and incoming inquiries, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting product inquiries, preparing quotes, processing orders, and assisting with day-to-day branch operations. This position requires a hands-on team player who is comfortable helping in the warehouse when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist walk-in customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person.
- Provide product recommendations and technical guidance related to doors, frames, and architectural hardware.
- Prepare customer quotations and process sales orders accurately.
- Follow up on quotes and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and end users.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
- Assist with inventory control and warehouse operations when required.
- Receive, organize, and move incoming shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support other departments and operational needs as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience in doors, door hardware, architectural hardware, building materials, or a related industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of door and hardware products.
- Previous experience in inside sales, counter sales, branch operations, or customer service.
- Ability to confidently communicate technical product information to customers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computer systems and order entry software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50-60 lbs.
- Comfortable assisting with warehouse duties as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move product throughout the workday.
