This position is for our Extendicare Holyrood Home, located in Edmonton, Alberta.

What you’ll be doing

Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
Prepares food and nourishments in accordance with prescribed diets.
Maintains all required records and monitors quality and quantity of food.
Directs Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and in serving activities at mealtimes.
Assumes responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

Responsibilities

The cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals in accordance with prescribed therapeutic diets while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. They also oversee dietary aides and manage routine departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
