Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will oversee architectural millwork projects from initial estimating and planning through engineering, fabrication, delivery, installation, and final closeout. This role combines project management with onsite installation supervision, requiring strong technical knowledge of custom millwork, construction coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage architectural millwork projects from estimating and planning through fabrication, delivery, installation, and closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, General Contractors, architects, subcontractors, installers, and internal teams.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, Programming, Production, and Installation teams.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project requirements.
- Coordinate site measurements, material selections, samples, approvals, and project documentation.
- Monitor production progress to ensure quality standards and project deadlines are met.
- Supervise and coordinate onsite millwork installation activities.
- Identify and resolve design, scheduling, quality, and site-related issues.
- Prepare and manage RFIs, change orders, drawing logs, and project records.
- Coordinate material procurement, logistics, deliveries, and site requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate project invoicing, accounting activities, and accounts receivable.
- Manage project closeout, as-built documentation, warranties, and final deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience in architectural millwork, custom woodworking, custom fabrication, or a related construction environment.
- Strong understanding of the complete millwork project lifecycle, from design and engineering through fabrication and installation.
- Experience reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Proven ability to coordinate with General Contractors, architects, clients, production teams, installers, and subcontractors.
- Experience in site supervision or installation management is preferred.
- Familiarity with AWI/AWMAC standards is an advantage.
- Experience managing high-end commercial or residential construction projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, priorities, and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management or documentation software.
