Farrow & Ball - Showroom Assistant, Color & Design Sales - Toronto, Canada
We are looking for a passionate and experienced sales professional to join our Toronto showroom as a part-time Showroom Assistant (20 hours per week). The ideal candidate combines a strong commercial mindset with a genuine passion for colour, interiors, and design, using their expertise to inspire clients, build lasting relationships, and drive sales in a luxury, design-led environment.
Farrow & Ball is a luxury British lifestyle brand renowned for richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper, made using the finest quality ingredients and traditional techniques. Established in Dorset in 1946, we now have 60 showrooms worldwide and a global network of stockists.

What We Expect from You: Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Drive showroom sales and contribute to sales targets and KPIs through proactive client engagement, relationship building, and follow-up.
- Identify, develop, and convert new opportunities, with a focus on closing, cross-selling, and growing existing relationships.
- Deliver a consultative sales experience by understanding client needs and recommending tailored product and design solutions.
- Support the Showroom Manager with sales and non-sales activities and lead by example.
A&D Relationships & Client Experience
- Build and nurture relationships with architects, interior designers, decorators, and other A&D and trade professionals.
- Create a personalized, elevated experience for residential and trade clients that reflects the Farrow & Ball brand.
- Guide clients throughout their purchasing journey, from consultation through follow-up and order completion.
- Resolve client concerns professionally, escalating to the Showroom Manager when appropriate.
Colour, Design & Brand
- Promote and sell Farrow & Ball's Colour Consultancy service, providing knowledgeable guidance on colour selection, coordination, suitability, and use within a space.
- Use knowledge of colour, interior design, paint, wallpaper, finishes, and lighting to inspire clients and support their projects.
- Bring the Farrow & Ball brand to life through product expertise, technical knowledge, and our brand story.
- Stay informed about interior design trends, colour influences, and developments within the design community.
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional client service and achieving sales goals.
- Share product, colour, and design knowledge with colleagues.
- Assist with training and onboarding new team members, particularly in product knowledge and consultative selling.
- Support the Showroom Manager in creating a collaborative, high-performing environment.
Showroom Operations & Technology
- Maintain high visual, presentation, and brand standards throughout the showroom and stockroom.
- Support opening and closing procedures, inventory management, merchandising, and showroom maintenance.
- Use POS, CRM, Microsoft Office, iPads, and other business systems to support sales and operations.
- Unload and unpack inventory, stock merchandise, mix paint, and safely lift and move paint cans and other products.
Key Attributes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging residential clients, design professionals, and trade partners.
- Experience in luxury retail, interior design, architecture & design, or another premium, design-led environment is highly desirable.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to identify and convert opportunities through follow-up, closing, and cross-selling.
- Understanding of colour theory, interior design principles, and the relationship between colour, lighting, finishes, and space is preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative showroom while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficient with POS systems, Microsoft Office, iPads, CRM, and other sales technologies.
- Must be available to work weekends and maintain a flexible schedule to support showroom operations.
- Comfortable with the physical requirements of the role, including receiving shipments, unpacking and organizing inventory, safely lifting and moving paint cans and other products, mixing paint, and maintaining the showroom.
