Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent's key responsibilities are:
- Supervise all on-site activities related to construction, including demolition and utility installations.
- Help with the preparation of supporting documentation including bill of materials, databases, testing plans, schedules, and related contract documents.
- Ensure work is carried out according to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Keep daily records and logs in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure timely completion.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers adhere to safety standards, devise and implement site policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular project inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Manage on-site resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with workers, providing clear instructions and guidance.
- Inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate and support of onsite logistics
- Travel to project sites as required.
Education And Qualifications
- 5 years of construction Site Supervision background, or an equivalent combination of technical training and industry experience, including demolition and utility work.
- Experience with the interpretation of and adherence with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Act.
- Self-motivated, with strong desire to learn and lead others.
- Well organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
Job Requirements
- Proven ability to supervise on-site construction activities and manage site personnel effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and guide teams.
- Ability to monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely completion.
- Thorough knowledge of and ability to enforce safety protocols and standards on construction sites.
