Our strength is our people. We’re a collaborative, hands-on team that values initiative, fresh thinking and taking ownership of your work. If you enjoy solving problems, working in the field and being part of a team that gets things done, we’d like to hear from you.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking Geotechnicians / Exploration Assistants for hands-on, field-based support of exploration programs. - Measure, photograph, orient and cut drill core safely according to project procedures.
- Assist with geotechnical logging and accurate collection and entry of core data.
- Handle and move core boxes and maintain clean, organized core processing areas.
- Support field exploration, including drill pad scouting, mapping, prospecting and surface sampling as needed.
- Use computers and mobile applications to record observations and project data.
- Communicate progress and issues clearly, and contribute to safe, collaborative field operations.
- Perform other related work as required; and such other duties and services that would be reasonably expected to be performed by a person employed by a public mineral exploration and development company in a similar position to that of the employee.
What You Bring
- Careful, organized approach to core handling and data recording, with strong attention to detail.
- Health and Safety focused mindset to work safely and contribute to safe practices of the First Mining Gold team.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural team.

- Willingness to travel and work rotationally; legally entitled to work in Canada.
Assets: Prior core cutting, core photography, geotechnical logging or exploration fieldwork; ATV/UTV/snowmobile experience.
